Applied Behavior Analysis

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) uses research-based strategies to encourage positive behaviors and discourage negative behaviors. ABA is best known for its success in treating individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (e.g., Down Syndrome, intellectual disabilities). Treatment is effective across an individual's lifespan (i.e., childhood, adolescence, adulthood).

When your child becomes  a part of our Partners in Autism family, they will have an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) written by one of our qualified and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA's). Your child's progress is tracked and measured by the BCBA so that their instructor is able to respond in real time to the success of the selected strategies. The focus of these individualized programs will be to teach your child functional skills to improve their overall quality of life.
These skills may include:
  • Daily Living
  • Social
  • Communication
  • Self-Help
  • Play
  • Self-Management
Results are achieved by using specific, evidence-based methods.
