Knocking Down Walls and Carving Out Spaces

Cookie-cutter rooms and cookie-cutter approaches aren't good enough for us. They don't properly support and equip our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve. So as we designed the layout of our new, second location, we did to the building what we already do to the employment landscape: knock down walls and carve out spaces for our clients to thrive.

We've taken what we've learned from our single, multi-use training room at our current location and expanded it to multiple rooms to meet the needs of our diverse clients.

These distinct training spaces include:

  • Restaurant table and beverage station

  • Library shelf and display rack

  • Mailroom

  • Administrative desk with technology

  • Maintenance workbench

  • Product shelving

  • Checkout with cash register

  • Kitchen

  • Sewing and textiles station

  • Sample studio apartment/hotel room

  • Laundry room with washer, dryer, and ironing board

Each of these training spaces provides a designated environment for clients to hone their skills and prepare for employment in fields that interest them.

By dedicating a separate space to each training focus, sessions will be more immersive and authentic. The elements in each space can be intentionally selected to accurately match real environments. They can also be adjusted to match what each client is most likely to encounter.

We will be able to provide clients with focused experiences free of unnecessary distractions and stimuli. Conversely, we will also be able to simulate distractions they may encounter in real work environments in order to practice successful strategies.

We will also be able to be more flexible in our scheduling options for our clients since multiple clients will be able to work in separate rooms concurrently.

Intentional Impact
