Congratulations to Chloe and Amanda on the completion of their “Benefits Information Network Certification Training.” For the past 10 weeks, they've participated in trainings, readings, assignments, and quizzes. They completed a final case study and were re-certified to complete BINS for our clients. This helps ensure that our clients can make informed decisions about their financial wellbeing and career goals.

Our move-in date for the new building is getting closer and closer! We're ordering furniture and other resources for our Life Skills and Employment Training areas. We're so excited to be able to offer so many diverse opportunities to our clients.

We hope you've kept up with our coverage of our Halloween festivities on social media because it's been a blast!

We had the best Trunk-or-Treat yet (our 3rd annual). Everything came together perfectly: the layout of trunks and activities allowed for easy flow without crowding, we had a ton of participation from clients and community members, and the weather couldn't have been better! Congratulations to the Trolls and Toy Story crews for winning best costumes and best trunk!

On Halloween, we worked on lots of skills while having fun with an office trick-or-treat! Check out this video for a look at all the intentionality that went into the event and all the learning that came from it!

Our Lead Behavior Techs and Clinical Director hosted a taco bar and hot coco bar for all the staff so they had some Halloween goodies as well! It was so cute and absolutely delicious.

We'll be delving into the beautiful potential of HRE (Happy, Relaxed, Engaged) methods to help motivate our kiddos to work on skills while treating them with utmost respect. All individuals learn best when they are able to find joy in learning. HRE methods put that joy first, knowing that a learner will make the most progress when they are happy and relaxed. We will be examining ways to make our clients more comfortable - with their environment, with tasks, and with their right to autonomy (within the limits of safety) - so they can engage with their programs and feel valued and respected during all their time with us. We've started to roll out HRE methods with specific clients and will be doing our first staff-wide training in November.

Our ABA Transitional Classroom has celebrated another transition into a typical classroom this past month. Our staff remained with the client during their first days of class to ensure that the transition was progressing smoothly and that both our client and their new teachers felt equipped and supported. We're so proud of them and know that they will thrive! We're also looking forward to another graduation into an external school for another client next month!

Our Instructor, Jordyn, has been making awesome spooky and fall crafts this past month! One was about "bones," which fit the Halloween season while also leading into a science lesson. This connection made the lesson even more engaging for our students! They also looked at pumpkin anatomy and layering colored paper.

Next up, they will be doing projects themed around coins!

We will host a Movie Night for clients and their staff on December 7th at Partners in Autism from 2 to 4 p.m. Snacks and water will be provided. Feel free to wear your favorite, most comfy pajamas!

Movie options are: Dr. Seuss's The Grinch, IF, or Inside Out 2.

Please email your vote of movie choice to Megan.P@PartnersinAutism.com.

The one with the most votes will be shown!

We have a new membership available for our staff to use with clients! Power Up Action Park has joined our collection of community memberships. Available activities include duck bowling, arcade, rock climbing, and more! As their motto says, "Play. Climb. Get Social." Ask Megan for more details about what the membership covers.

We were delighted to throw a birthday bash for one of our consistent Game Night participants at the most recent Game Night. We decorated the room, ate desserts, decked her out with a birthday sash, and tried to all sign in tune. The sense of community was joyous - such a great group of people!

Welcome to our newest Preferred Caregiver, Camera Spurr!

Employment

Above & Beyond!

Treasure House - They have been consistently collaborative and accommodating to a client who has been struggling with staying focused and completing assigned job duties. They worked with Brittaney to create a task schedule and also utilized a synchronized timer system to keep the client focused and help them transition from one task to the next.

Sav U You Mor, Churubusco - They have allowed clients to come in and practice stocking and

cleaning skills. They have been a great integrated training site for our clients!

Homegoods - Our client was hired for a position in the Maintenance/Warehouse department.

HomeGoods continues to be a stellar, inclusive employer. Congratulations to our client!

Honorable Mention

Party City - They been supportive to our client hired there who is being cross-trained.

in different departments. Our client reports, “things are going well. I've been doing pretty

well at the cash register and I've been getting praise from coworkers and bosses…”
