"On Your Way Academy" Our Transitional Classroom

We recognize that parents and guardians want their children to succeed in the classroom and interact with peers in an appropriate and positive way. As parents of a child on the spectrum, we understand that meeting the demands of a classroom environment can be a struggle for the whole family.

We experienced this with our own child who transitioned from ABA therapy to a typical classroom at the age of 9. The worries that we experienced, both academically and socially were overwhelming. We were fortunate enough to have had a successful transition because of the preparation and support our child received from his Behavior Technicians and BCBAs being able to utilize the classroom environment.

Meeting the demands of a classroom can be challenging for children on the spectrum.
"On Your Way Academy" is a unique environment where children are given the opportunity to practice skills which will help them successfully transition into a typical classroom.
At "On Your Way Academy," your child will:
  • Participate in a classroom environment managed by a Licensed Elementary Educator
  • Receive one-to-one assistance from our skilled staff
  • Learn classroom readiness skills such as following directions, interacting positively with peers, and raising their hand to speak
  • Be treated with respect for the unique individual that they are

Our Transitional Classroom vs. Our Learning Center

At Partners in Autism, we know that each of our clients is on a unique autism journey, and so we offer two parallel educational pathways to fit your needs: Our Transitional Classroom and Our Learning Center
  • Our Transitional Classroom is exactly that - a transition.
  • Clients work on classroom readiness skills with the goal of transitioning into a typical classroom setting.
  • Becoming accustomed to typical classroom routines and behavior expectations is the focus.
  • Our highly trained staff, directed by an on-site licensed elementary educator, help to clarify the unspoken social expectations of a typical classroom while still respecting the dignity and unique needs of each client.
  • Our Learning Center is a complete academic environment.
  • Students pursue standard educational benchmarks on par with their general education peers while in a setting designed to accommodate their unique needs.
  • Achieving academic success is the focus.
  • Our highly trained staff, directed by an on-site licensed elementary educator, help to provide accommodations and best-practice supports as students achieve their full academic potential.
We want to be your partner through your autism journey in whatever way we can.
