About the Role

The Partners in Autism Internship Program is designed to immerse students at the secondary and post-secondary levels in the specific area of disability services most aligned with their academic goals. Partners in Autism Internship Program includes only unpaid positions. 


Interns will have the opportunity to explore multiple career paths in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and inclusive education. Responsibilities are tailored to match each intern’s interests and professional goals, allowing for a highly personalized and meaningful experience.


Potential Responsibilities (customized by student goals and interests):

  • Assist with therapy sessions as appropriate.

  • Lead classroom or group activities, including circle time and movement breaks.

  • Provide support during lunch and snack times in the ABA kitchen.

  • Create and organize worksheets, educational materials, and bulletin boards.

  • Research, propose, and prepare sensory and arts-based activities.

  • Support classroom programming by preparing science, math, language, and art lessons.

  • Engage in Life Skills programs and employment support groups.

  • Assist with social group events and document participation through notes and supervision logs.

  • Help with clerical tasks and general program support.


Requirements

Internships at Partners in Autism occur in conjunction with the student’s educational institution and coursework.


Before an internship can begin, the student must complete the Internship Placement Application.

 

Ideal Candidates Will:

  • Be enthusiastic, responsible, and eager to learn.

  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Be comfortable working in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

  • Have interest in special education, ABA, healthcare, teaching, or related fields.
