PAC Services
Support By Your Side
Acquire and maintain daily life skills in both the home and in the community with Participant Assistance and Care (PAC) Services and the one-on-one attention of a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
As caregivers, we understand how important it is to feel you can trust the professionals working with your loved ones. When matching Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to our clients, we rely on input from our clients. We want to know your goals, concerns, and interests to make sure we are pairing you with the best possible match.
Although similar to Respite Services, PAC Services are more goal oriented. All goals are designed to increase the independence of the individual. Your DSPs will work toward the goals listed in the Person Centered Individual Service Plan (PCISP).
Some examples of PAC goals include:
-
Daily Living Skills
-
Health & Safety
-
Meal Prep
-
Keeping Appointments
-
Community Activities
-
Bill Paying
-
Shopping
-
Social Skills in Small and Large Groups
-
Meeting People with Shared Interests
-
Leisure Activities
-
Self-Care
-
Household Chores
-
Public Transportation
-
Homework Strategies
These goals are only some of the many ways that we can help our clients achieve independence. Contact us to see how we can help you meet your individual goals.
Empowering Caregivers
Caregivers: You devote time, energy, and care to the ones you love. Wouldn't it be great if someone supported the care you provide? We do!
A PAC Preferred Caregiver is a DSP who provides PAC services to someone they already know and love. Parents can be preferred caregivers if their child is over 18. Other relatives, in-laws, or family friends can be preferred caregivers for any age individual.
We equip preferred caregivers with the same in-depth training that we give to all of our DSPs to enrich the skills you already use with your loved one. You'll also have access to all the resources and professional support available to all our DSPs to make the care you provide even more robust.
Want to learn more about being paid for the support you currently give to a loved one? Contact our Director of Waiver Services for more information.
What's the Partners Difference?
Guided by Client Choice
We rely on your input when pairing you with a DSP. We start by listening to your goals and interests and getting to know you as a person. We then host a meet-and-greet in which you can interview the DSP we recommend. You, the client, determine whether they are the right fit for your personality and needs.
Community and Social Groups
We equip our DSPs with a wide range of resources to support community engagement.
-
Social groups we host on site or in the community:

DSP Training
Unlike many other providers, our DSPs are employees, not contractors. We provide them with specialized training to build a deep, empathetic understanding of individuals with autism. This training goes far beyond the norm and ensures that are clients are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Funding
Partners in Autism is an approved Indiana Medicaid Waiver Services Provider. PAC Services are funded by the Family Supports Medicaid Waiver or by private-pay. We can help you navigate Waiver funding and guide you through the process of obtaining the Waiver. You can email our Wavier Services directly at WaiverServices@PartnersinAutism.com
Partners in Autism requires coordination of care and will partner with the professionals on your team. Whether it's working with other Waiver Service providers, an Employment Specialist, or an ABA Technician, we know consistency will help you reach your best possible outcome!
Additionally, we actively pursue grant opportunities to enrich the range of activities our clients can enjoy at minimal cost to them. We also secure grants to empower our DSPs to try new things.
We are a grant recipient of the November 2022 Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) Direct Service Workforce Investment Grant. Of the services supported by the grant, we provide:
-
Participant Assistance and Care
-
Extended Services
Personal and Professional
Our DSPs build trusting relationships by getting to know each client as a whole person. This personal rapport serves as a meaningful foundation for the encouragement and guidance they will provide as their client pursues goals.
As a trained professional, the DSP is able to:
-
help the participant access resources in the community
-
provide individualized sensory management strategies
-
practice interactions in a comfortable environment
-
reduce large tasks into less overwhelming steps
-
provide feedback and encouragement
-
serve as a model for skills and behaviors
-
communicate information about goal progress with the client's case manager or Behavior Consultant (BC) to ensure that decisions about goals are based on accurate data
